爱迪生 (thomas alva edison)1847
年生于美国俄亥俄州。他一生中的发明超过二千多种。他不但成为近代物理史上一位相当杰出的科学家,更被誉为世界上最伟大的发明家。
爱迪生一生卓越的成就并非侥幸,而是他百折不挠、勇于尝试、敢于创新的成果。由于家境贫困,爱迪生只受过三个月的小学教育,十二岁就开始在火车上工作。虽然如此,他仍然努力不懈,刻苦自学。他在少年时代已对自然科学产生了浓厚的兴趣,不但掌握了丰富的电学、化学等知识,还喜欢在车上和家里进行一些「小实验」。1863
年,他在一家铁路公司当服务员,他的发明生涯也从此开始。随着他的发明一个个地诞生,他的名子开始为人熟悉,生活也逐渐富裕起来。
1873 年爱迪生制造出双工式发报机,翌年又制造了四工式发报机。1876
年,他在门洛帕克建立了美国第一个工业研究实验室,也就是「爱迪生发明工厂」。在往后的两年,他发明了留声机,轰动了全世界,使他获得法国爵士的衔头。
爱迪生一生中最大的贡献,就是发明了电灯。他做了 1600 多次耐热材料和 600
多种植物纤维的实验,才制造出第一个灯泡。后来他更在这基础上不断改良制造的方法。为了推广电灯的使用,他研究出并联电路、保险丝、绝缘物质、铜线网络等电器系统的各种附加设备;又制造了电压稳定的发电机和经济配电的三线掣。1882
年他在纽约建立了一个电力网。虽然他使用直流电 的输电方法限制了传送电力的距离,但这项伟大的贡献,已大大改善了人类的生活。
1883 年爱迪生发现热电子发射现象,为电子管的面世奠定了基础。1887
年,他在西奥伦治建立了更大的实验室。在那里他的发明更是多不胜数,其中较重大的有 1888 年的电影摄录机;1896
年的电影放映机和镍铁电池。他接二连三的发明,使他在1928 年获得了国会金质特别奖。
1931年,爱迪生在西奥伦治与世长辞,享年 84 岁。

贝:的最后一笔是点,不要写成了竖弯勾。
