蛇这个名字，一听就令人毛骨悚然，胆战心惊。俗话说：“一朝被蛇咬，十年怕井绳。”

的确，蛇那光溜溜的外表，冰凉的身体，以及老天爷给它的那个充满杀机的大嘴和红舌头，再加上在蛇的家族里又有响尾蛇、眼镜蛇、七步蛇等毒蛇，确实让人害怕。

然而，我在这里所要讲的并不是蛇有多么的让人害怕。其实，蛇是一种既温和，又对人类乃至大自然都有益的动物。虽然如此，但我也怕蛇。可自从那件事以后，我就不害怕蛇了。

那件事发生在去年夏天的一个下午，我睡午觉起来，刚打开门，看到一个令人既惊奇又担心的场面。

只见一条五寸长的小蛇，正挺着脖子，抬起头，向一只躲在墙角边的大老鼠进攻。它吐出鲜红的舌头，挺起直直的脖子，来回摆动着，好像在寻找有利的战机。那只大老鼠呢？也毫不示弱，它瞪着两只贼溜溜的小眼，紧缩着身体，隆起背，就像一座拱桥，嘴边的胡须翘着，龇着牙，似乎在向小蛇示威。

看着那大老鼠肥胖的身子，锋利的牙齿，再看看那小蛇，太让人担心了。

突然，小蛇向大老鼠发起了猛攻，蛇的脖子越摇越快，使人眼花缭乱，小蛇的这一招可把大老鼠给吓坏了。只见它突然向小蛇扑来，准备来个鱼死网破。小蛇灵巧地躲过，随之以迅雷不及掩耳之势向大老鼠的喉咙咬去。那大老鼠再想躲过为时已晚……原来小蛇使用的是诱敌之术。

看着这条小蛇，我不禁想：看某种事物不要只看它的外表。狐狸虽以美丽著称，但又以狡猾而出名。虽然蛇的外表令人害怕，但却能帮助人类消灭老鼠，令人害怕的蛇不也能为人类造福吗？

小时候，为了让我变得见多识广，父母常常带我去动物园。也就是在那里，我第一次见到了蛇。
