写人的作文以前练过，大多数开头描写外貌，中间叙述人物二三事，结尾点题作文不难写，可是往往情节简单，人物单薄，缺少新意，更难以产生打动读者的力量。那么，如何提升作文水平，让人物形象在你笔下生动起来？我们可以借鉴一下本单元课文中有关写人的方法。总结一下，有以下几点：
一是写人物外貌要抓住特征，突出精神性格。
例如鲁迅写清国留学生，就抓住帽子、辫子、脖子进行生动刻画：写帽子形成一座富士山，辫子油光可鉴，还要将脖子扭几扭，实在标致极了。几笔就刻画出他们思想腐朽、不学无术、附庸风雅的丑态。
二是运用比喻夸张等修辞手法，突出人物特征。
例如茨威格写列夫q托尔斯泰：
