Do you like working in a big city?
Discuss the advantages of working in a big city.
雅思口语P3话题范文:activity you do in your school
1.Do you think schools should organize more group activities?
2.What kinds of activities are good for children’s health?
3.What kinds of classroom activities are popular in your country?
4.Should young people play dangerous sports?
Sample answers:
1.Yes, I think so. First of all, kids who participate in group activities do better in school, have better interpersonal skills and are more team-oriented. More importantly, participation in group activites provides opportunities for leadership and socialization, as well as the development of skills for handling success and failure.
2.Well, I think doing sports can ensure students a healthier physical and mental condition, because it allows students to clear their minds of academic and social pressures. Moreover, doing sports can also run off the tension that’s accumulated in their muscles, which for sure paves a way for a more efficient learning.
3.Well, that?s quite an interesting question. Uh…I guess maybe the most popular classroom activity in China would be the class debate. You know, in most campus, the classroom atmosphere is vivid and open, so professors sometimes encourage students to do some class debates. Through this activity, students can develop their divergent thinking and also improve their speaking skills.
4.Personally, I think it depends. For some people they think it's just not worth taking risk of life to do dangerous sports. While for other people, they just want to add some stress and tension to their lives. When doing dangerous sports, they can leave all troubles behind. I believe that to some extent, dangerous activities can give people freedom, happiness, and the feeling of independence. But we still need to be careful when playing dangerous sports.
雅思口语P3话题范文:a time when you were very busy
1.Which one do you prefer, an easy life or a busy life?
2.In which way do you often relax when you are busy?
3.Is relaxation important for a healthy life?
4.Will you take a long vacation after a long period of busy work?
Sample answers:
1.The perfect life I want is busy with the thing I like, I enjoy doing my job, and I’m busy with work stuff at weekdays, and I can still have time to have fun and relax in the weekends, like sleep late in the morning, watch a good movie with friend. So I prefer to be busy at weekdays and have time to relax and live an easy life at weekends.
2.After five days busy work, I would usually go to the gym to have a boxing lesson, and after one hour working out, a hot water shower would be good enjoyment. I like doing sports, and I go to the gym almost every day after work cause working out can help me relax my mind and strength my body at the same.
3.Yes, of course. After one day busy work, people will feel exhausted mentally, and it is very good for their health if they go outside to take some fresh air and do some exercise, which can build up their body and relax their mind at the same time. And a good sleep is also very important, as in sleep, human’s brain will eliminate a kind of substance that is produced in the daytime while working, and this substance will prohibit your brain from thinking if there is too much of it.
4.Yes, it is very necessary for me to take a vacation, but it won’t be too long, about 7 to 10 days. And in the first one or two days I’ll totally relax my body and mind, doing nothing but getting enough sleep at home, and in the next couple of days I’ll go for a trip nearby or abroad, and it depends on the length of my vacation. And I think the key of vacation is to make yourself completely way from work and do something else.
Part1: Daily conversation (日常对话)
Part2: Individual long turn (独自描述)
Part3: Two-way discussion (双向讨论)
Examiner: Do have any brothers or sisters?
这时,如果我们只回答“Yes, I do.”或者“No, I don't.” Reason? Example? Detail?
Candidate: No, I don't. I'm the only child of my family. But I have a cousin, with whom I grew up. So I never felt lonely.
Examiner: Do you like watching films?
Comedy
Horror movie
Action movie 动作片
Tragedy
Swordsmen film
Cartoon film 动画片
Candidate: Yes, I do. I'm crazy about many types of films, such as comedy, tragedy, swordsmen films, etc.
Candidate: No, not really. I'm too busy with my work every day. What's more, the film ticket is always pricey.
Do you like drawing?
Do you like doing sports?
Have you ever grown anything in a garden?
Do you know your neighbors?
What was the last gift you received?
Say what you mean and mean what you say!
1.Do you like to try new food?
2.What kinds of foreign food are popular in your country?
3.Do you like to cook at home?
4.Is it expensive to eat out in your country?
5.What’s the difference between Chinese food and western food?
Sample answers:
1.Yes, I am not a fussy eater and I am keen on trying new foods. Having a variety of snacks in the streets with my friends will be great fun for me, since neither do I have any particular dietary requirements nor do I care much about food hygiene. Last year when the Taiwanese snacks exhibition was held, I was literally stuffed full to brim. Besides, I have got a sweet tooth and can never say no to the latest cakes or biscuits launched by Starbucks and Costa Coffee. To end the desserts with a cup of latte or Caramel Macchiato will be enough make my day.
2.A wide range of foreign foods are welcomed, including hamburgers, tuna sandwiches, hotdogs, pizzas, macaroni, and spaghetti. The fast food restaurants mushroomed in recent years and enjoyed great popularity among the young generations. Although it is reported from time to time that the energy-dense fast foods contain high levels of fat and sugar, McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut make a name of themselves and become known to Chinese for their daintiness and efficiency. One can choose to stay in or to take away and can just throw the wrappers into bins rather than go through all the trouble washing the bowls and plates.
3.Yes, I am keen on cooking at home. On weekends, I will invite my parents or friends to my apartment and make by myself lots of seafood, vegetables, roast pork, chicken, steamed fish and fried rice. On weekdays, I will prepare refreshments for myself in case of hunger or sleepiness during office hours. A wide range of in-season fruits such as cherry, kiwi fruit, lime, grapefruit contain various kinds of vitamins, trace elements with little fat. If I am particularly tired someday, TV dinners might be the preferred choice.
4.Well, whether it is expensive to eat out in China depends on what to eat. If it is simple home cooking such as steamed or braised chicken, sweet-and-sour fish, broiled beef slices or steamed pork belly with preserved greens, then it won’t be a huge burden for average families in China to eat there twice a week. But if it is a fancy Western restaurant, which is usually for dating instead of family gatherings, then it might cost a little bit for a man to treat a woman.
5.Chinese cuisines differ from Western ones in several aspects. The most obvious distinction is that Chinese staple diets feature rice, steamed buns, dumplings, noodles while Western ones mainly include toasts, buns, hamburgers, oatmeal, and macaroni. Besides, the two culture have different blending of seasonings. Chinese people take full advantage of vinegar, salt, ginger, garlic to remove any undesirable fishy or gamey odors while Westerners make use of lemon juice and vanilla. Finally, foods in Chinese cuisines will be stewed or fried with brown or soy sauces by cooks while those in Western dishes will be
Describe a tall building
you should say:
what the building is
where the building is located
how you got to know the building
explain why you like or dislike this tall building.
Sample answer:
I’m going to describe a very famous building in New York; the Empire State Building. People might not think of it as an old building, but the Empire State Building was built in 1931, so I don’t think it can be classed as new. It’s located on Manhattan island and it’s probably the most distinctive and recognizable building 【感受词搭,最显眼的建筑】when you look at New York’s skyline.
As far as I know, the Empire State Building is an office building, but visitors can go up to an observation deck【探索词搭-手脚,登上观察台】 on the top floor, which is the 102nd floor. There’s also a 360-degree observation area on the 86th floor. Apparently, the building makes more money 【探索词搭-金钱,挣钱】from the sale of tickets to the observation floors than it does from office rentals.
I think the Empire State Building is still one of the most impressive skyscrapers in the world. It’s such an iconic structure【感受词搭,标志性建筑】, and it’s amazing to think that it was built around 80 years ago. The best thing about the building is the viewing deck on the top floor, which offers spectacular views of the city【欲望词搭,提供城市的壮丽景色】; it’s definitely the best vantage point in New York. I’d recommend anyone who visits the city to go there and experience the view【探索词搭-头脑,享受景色】.
Describe a café that you have been to.
You should say
- where it is
- why you went there
- what you ate or drank
- and explain why you liked or disliked the café.
范文:
I’m going to describe a café that I go to maybe once a week. It’s just down the road from where I live, near Manchester, so it’s really convenient for me to walk down there for a coffee or a bite to eat, and to use the wifi.
The last time I went to this local café was on Friday afternoon. I was trying to do some work at home, but I found myself getting distracted by little jobs around the house. So I decided to have a change of scenery; I put my laptop in its bag and made the short walk to the café, where I spent the next few hours getting all of my work done. With a nice cup of coffee and just the right level of background noise, I found it much easier to concentrate.
Over the course of the afternoon, I drank two cups of coffee and a glass or two of water. The café owner takes a lot of pride in making the best ‘flat white’ coffee in the area, so that’s what I tend to drink. If I remember correctly, the second coffee that I ordered was a decaf, because I try to avoid drinking too much caffeine in the afternoon. I didn’t have anything to eat on that occasion, but I do sometimes have one of the home-made cakes that they sell.
There are a few reasons why I like going to my local café. I suppose the main reasons are the coffee, the free wifi and the friendly staff. However, on Friday I also managed to sit at my favourite table near one of the windows, and the café wasn’t very busy. So the atmosphere and noise level were just right, and I was able to focus on my work without distractions for most of the afternoon.
Describe a cafe that you know in your hometown
You should say:
where it is
how often you go there
what kind of food they serve there (or, what service they provide)
who you usually go there with
and explain why you like to eat at this place/ why you choose to eat at this place.
对于装饰可以用词组“Simply decorated …”、“Well-decorated …”,句型“There are ____painting hanging on the wall ____.”
内部风格可以说是“It is furnished with ____in a ___style.”、“Traditional Chinese style”、“Western style ( antique , classical , gentle & warm)”.
Speaking of a café in my hometown, I would like to talk about a fantastic café which is located in NANLUOGUXIANG. NANLUOGUXIANG is a famous street for shopping with a long history, however, the café not only shows his culture to customs, but also it provides a lot of modern stuff. There are 3 reasons can explain why I am really into this café.
First of all, it sells various kinds of coffee, such as Black, Latte and my favorite Mocha. In addition, it offers lots of delicious western refreshment, like cookie and sandwich. Besides, the decorations of the café are absolutely amazed, which create a small news world for people. The atmosphere at here can make people calm down and release their pressure.
Consequently, it never fail to attract customs’ insight.
1.Why do people like café?
The softly-furnished cafes which served tasty and refreshing coffee were a world away from greasy-spoon joints, and actually encouraged customers to linger. Drinking coffee was also seen as a way to emulate the cosmopolitan New York lifestyles showcased in hugely popular sitcoms like Friends or Seinfeld. The popularity of café culture was further cemented by the emergence of the digital age, when laptops, mobile phones, and later tablets, freed some workers from their desk.
2.When people want to have discussion, why do they prefer café to restaurant?
unlike the traditional restaurants, a café, such as Starbucks is what urban planners call a third place, which is neither home or work but a neutral community space where people can meet on an equal footing. A cup of coffee may be a bit costly, you can really rent yourself a pleasant, inviting living room where you can stay for a while and meet with friends or work colleagues. the surroundings are comfy, quiet and laid back where great discussion can happen.
3.What kinds of people would like to go to café?
First of all, The Stressed Out Student. We've all been this person: Cramming for an exam on a laptop, trying frantically to finish a term paper, and chugging so much black coffee that we're convinced the stuff is actually running through our veins. And all so the business type, Like the Time Killer, they'll spend their entire time in the coffee shop tapping away at their phone.
4.Will café be popular in the future?
yes, the café culture emerges in parallel with some big changes in how people live, work and interact. Urban planners speak of a “third place” which is neither home nor work, but a neutral community space where people can meet on an equal footing. And the café is a best choice. In the future, more and more people will consider coffee shops to be their second office/study as they can use the space to relax and unwind, write articles, draft new ideas or improve the existing ones, read, browse the Internet, pay the bills, manage various accounts, maintain blogs and social media accounts, plan the day, eat, and finally enjoy coffee.
Describe a restaurant or a caféthat you like
Describe a place for you to relax (but not your home)
When it comes to a caféor a restaurant that I like, I would like to share with you my favourite spot, the Loffee. It is a small cafélocated right next to my school, and I’ve been visiting this place almost every day since it was open.
The decoration style of Loffee caféis quite simple and modern, with a lot of wooden structures. There are some large paintings hanging on the wall. Apart from selling coffee and drinks, it also sells its exclusive coffee beans and pastries. Every time I walk in the Loffee café, I can smell the coffee, which makes me feel very delightful.
There are only 2 staffs in the Loffee café, and I see them busy all the time. I often have to wait at least 10-15 minutes to order my drink, since there is always a long queue. Luckily, the service in this caféis quite good. They also have limited drinks and food for different seasons.
I often go to this caféwhen I don’t have classes, and I will spend the whole afternoon there, to enjoy some tea and macaron, and to relax. I will also do my homework or read some books there. Apart from me, I’ve got a lot of friends who like to go to the Loffee cafésince it offers free wifi for customers. In addition, the Loffee caféis very popular among our students. There’s no air-conditioner in our classrooms and dormitory, so most students will go to Loffee for the air-con.
That’s why I like Loffee caféso much, and I really hope that in the future there can be more relaxing place like this.
Describe a place that you can read or write
Part 2
1. 考生对该话题缺少熟悉度;
2. 考生对该话题的理解容易造成偏差;
1.口语考试Part3不存在题库问题,任何一个general and abstract question related same topic in Part2 都有可能出现在Part3,所以这是它难的第一点。
Describe a time that you had to change your mind/plan
You should say:
When this happened
What made you change the plan/mind
What the new plan/mind was
And explain how you felt about the change
After graduating from high school, I faced the choice between going to college domestically(在国内)and studying abroad. Although it happened more than three years ago, the tangled feelings(纠结的心情) I experienced at that time are still impressive to me. Studying abroad was fairly attractive to many students, including me, for mainly two reasons. The first reason was that going abroad was aperfect excuse for us to avoid the college entrance examination, which was, it is not exaggerated to say(豪不夸张的说), everyone’s nightmare. The other reason is that many of us are curious about life in a foreign country, away from the control of parents. However, considering thatmy English skill isnot good enough to pass the SAT and I couldn’t communicate with local peoplesmoothly, I finallydecided to stay in China and join the college entrance examination. In this way, Iwould have moretime to improve my English. Actually, now I can say, that was a wise choice. Afterthe high school, I went to another city to go to college. At first, I felt overwhelmed(不知所措) aboutfacing all the stuff in a completely new place by myself, but I gradually got used to it and started to enjoy the freedom.I also made many friends coming from different countries. It felt amazing that people from all corners of the country(来自五湖四海) with different habits and stories were gathering together. Therefore, I feel really grateful about the choice I made, because I can’t imagine what I would miss if I chose the other way.

3.Why do some people throw garbage on the street?
